Dorie Reyes Polocziek (also known as Dorcas Poloczek Y. Reyes or Dorie Reyes Polo) is a German-based nurse, poet, writer, and cultural leader with a distinguished record of professional and artistic contributions. Originally trained in healthcare, she worked as a registered ICU nurse in Hürth and later specialised in wound assessment and palliative and oncology care before retiring in 2019. Her creative work includes published poetry collections and contributions to international anthologies, through which she articulates themes of resilience, identity, and the migrant experience. Polocziek has received multiple international honours for her literary and cultural leadership, including the AAA Iconic Filipina of Literature and Arts Award (2025), and serves in leadership roles with the European Network of Filipino Diaspora (ENFiD), where she has held positions such as Treasurer and Board Director. Her work reflects a deep commitment to community engagement, cultural advocacy, and artistic expression within the Filipino diaspora.
